Today in 'Expedition Gooris' the friendly family stops in Verona, Milan, Tuscany and Lake Garda. The trip makes Sam realize that he has missed many precious moments with Shania and Kenji due to his career. He bursts into tears: "It's sad that I missed so much, but this trip made up for it."

The Gooris family explores the sunny port city of Naples. The sun shines mercilessly during a paddling trip, so sunscreen is not an unnecessary luxury. Sam refuses to apply sunscreen. The family also enjoys a guided cruise along the Neapolitan coast and a dinner with a view of the sea.

The Gooris family's "American Dream" takes off. In the famous chic residential area of Los Angeles, Kenji and Sam already feel like "The Fresh Princes of Bel Air". There they are very impressed by their holiday home: a former villa of the world-famous singer Tom Jones. But the Goorissen don't have much time to imagine themselves as real Hollywood stars: Venice Beach, Hollywood Boulevard and Santa Monica Pier are crying out for a visit, so Sam, Kelly, Shania and Kenji over-enthusiastically hop into a flashy Mustang to explore the neighborhood. And a visit to a fortune teller is also a must for Kelly and Shania.

The family experiences one crazy adventure after another, but one thing is at the top of Sam's bucket list: he wants to see 'nen beir' in the wild. During the drive from San Francisco to Quincy - where the Goorissen feel like real cowboys - that dream finally comes true. Sam becomes almost hysterical when he spots a brown bear, and he lets out tears of joy.

The Goorissen have "no sitting gap" and like a challenge during their road trip along the West Coast. In sun-drenched California they go water skiing on Lake Tahoe. Sam really likes it. But it quickly goes from a confident "give me those two lats man" to a desperate "killers!" and "I can't feel my legs anymore!".

Sam had one big wish for his 50th birthday: to travel to Japan, the land of the rising sun. And so it happened! The plane tickets were booked, the suitcases were packed and after a flight of about 13 hours, the Gooris family arrived at their first destination: Tokyo. Full of curiosity and a portion of infectious enthusiasm, they set off to explore the vibrant Japanese metropolis.

Épisode 1 - Gooriskes Down Under

Na een lange vliegreis van 25 uur komt de familie Gooris aan in Cairns, een stad aan de oostkust van Noord-Australië, de toegangspoort tot het Groot Barrièrerif en de regenwouden. Na de stad verkend te hebben, bezoeken ze het Kuranda Rainforest om de unieke fauna en flora van Australië te ontdekken. Reizen door Australië blijkt echter niet zonder gevaren, vooral tijdens hun 'scoobadoo'-duik in het Groot Barrièrerif.

Épisode 2 - Van shitty beach naar 't paradijs

De familie vertrekt vanuit Cairns voor een roadtrip vol verrassingen. Ze beleven adrenaline in het Skypark, ontdekken de charme van Babinda en genieten van een workshop pottenbakken in Townsville. Na 600 km bereiken ze Airlie Beach, de poort naar de Whitsunday Islands. Ondanks Sams angst voor de catamaran wordt ook hij betoverd door dit paradijselijke stukje aarde.
