Épisode 1 - The Death Zone

Hubschrauberpilot Ryan Skorecki wird zum Basislager am Mount Everest gerufen: Ein Bergsteiger mit Verdacht auf Herzinfarkt muss schnellstmöglich ins 150 Kilometer entfernte Krankenhaus nach Kathmandu geflogen werden. Unterdessen macht sich Jason Laing auf die Suche nach einer verunglückten Bergsteigergruppe. Doch bevor die Expeditionsteilnehmer einzeln per Rettungsleine aus der Todeszone befreit werden können, muss der Pilot sein Ziel in dem entlegenen Gletschergebiet erst einmal finden! Außerdem in dieser Folge: Für Ananda Thapa endet ein routinemäßiger Transportflug in einer dramatischen Rettungsmission. Denn eine junge Frau mit ihrem neugeborenen Baby schwebt in akuter Lebensgefahr.

Final days of the season. With a doctor onboard, Ryan struggles to locate a woman suffering severe abdominal pains. Pushing the helicopter to its maximum, Jason struggles to reach a collapsed climber in the Death Zone.
