Épisode 1 - La llegada de Manuel remueve las cosas en la hacienda de José Luis

José Luis takes his two oldest children to celebrate their victory in the horse race at Carmen's house. Ignacio pays Herminia a large sum of money, in exchange for him not telling his father that nothing happened between them. Mama Bernarda is about to die and uses her last breath to reveal to María that Manuel and the boss are brothers. Just at that moment, Manuel arrives at the querencia to be in his mother's last minutes, but he does not make it. While the worker cries for the death of Mama Bernarda, José Luis interrupts and gives him his condolences. Leonor excitedly welcomes Mercedes and Lucrecia, who arrive from France to spend a season at the hacienda. José Luis realizes that the European woman gave books to Leonor and she burns them, so that she cannot become acculturated. She bursts into tears over her husband's betrayal and goes to cry in the forest. Manuel is also there and tries to console her, however, the boss appears and threatens him with a gun.

José Luis threatens Manuel and demands that he not approach Leonor. Herminia reunites with her brother after several years apart. After this, the woman enters to say goodbye to Mama Bernarda, but she is far from being felt. The boss goes to the chapel to confess his sins and has a terrifying vision where Renato, his father, blames him for not being the man he always wanted and hits him severely. The Echeñique family celebrates the New Year on the farm and invites all the workers. Lucrecia arrives at the celebration with a costume very advanced for the time and receives more than one challenge. Mama Bernarda's funeral takes place and José Luis takes the authority to speak about God. Manuel is an atheist man and contradicts the boss in front of everyone. The worker gives Leonor a special gift, but she is afraid to accept it. However, María's brother insists and causes a romantic moment where they both kiss.

Épisode 3 - Manuel encara a José Luis para defender a Leonor

Herminia throws Lucrecia out of Carmen's house, since she doesn't have such encounters. When she leaves, the young woman meets Luis Emilio and asks him to be discreet about the matter. María cries after the encounter with José Luis and Violeta notices and asks him what is going on. Manuel arrives home and suspects the truth, but his sister takes care of knocking down those thoughts. Teresita breaks down in tears when she sees Leonor and the worker kissing. Leontina discovers her pain and tries to console her. The next day, Manuel returns to María's house and tells her that he has come to say goodbye, since he must return to the north, before his feelings for the boss become greater. On the other hand, José Luis changes his mind and allows Leonor to read, but only those that he allows. Ignacio's mother does not agree and refutes his choices. He becomes very aggressive and just before hitting her, the worker intervenes and confronts the boss.

José Luis hits Manuel hard for having gotten involved in an argument with Leonor. After the above, María advises her brother to leave the hacienda, since she could have very serious problems with the boss. Luis Emilio tells Leontina that someone stole her watch and she decides to check the servants to see if they stole it. After degrading treatment, the Echeñique housekeeper finds some documents that establish that Mama Bernarda was the owner of part of the land. José Luis summons María to explain what is happening, and she prefers not to provide information. Leonor writes a romantic letter to the worker who stole her heart, just when her daughter wants to give him important advice related to her father. While Manuel tours the town in search of Herminia, he finds Teresita completely unconscious and takes her to the hacienda to receive care from her.

Manuel accepts José Luis's offer to work at La Querencia. Later, the young man confesses to Leonor that he has stayed at the farm for her, revealing that he is madly in love with her. This confession leads them to surrender to their feelings, sharing their first night of passion. Meanwhile, Lucrecia takes advantage of a moment of Teresita's vulnerability to try to kiss her, which results in a threat of fire. Furthermore, Manuel goes to the town brothel to inform José Luis about the threatened fire in his house. However, upon arriving, he discovers the owner of the estate in an intimate encounter with Herminia, without knowing that her sister works as a prostitute.

Manuel takes Herminia out of the brothel and takes her to his house. There, he confronts María for not warning him about her sister's adventures, and ends up tying the woman up. After this, the worker asks José Luis to give Violeta's aunt a job and after thinking about it for a few minutes he agrees. Leontina is in charge of telling the woman what her tasks will be. Ignacio asks Mercedes to meet her in the forest and confesses how much he loves her. On the other hand, Manuel intercepts Leonor and recites verses from her favorite poems. Since she does not know the author, he offers to meet her at the river to give her a book containing the writings. Leontina has several suspicions about the worker, which Buenaventura shares, and asks him to watch his every step. While María's brother waits for his beloved at the place they agreed upon, José Luis arrives with her at the same place to have an intimate encounter.

On the other hand, Ignacio has a fist fight with his brother, for having revealed his relationship in front of Mercedes. After this, he decides to confess all his feelings to Lucrecia's mother, but does not receive the response he expected. Manuel manages to rescue his sister from the assault, but ends up seriously injured. She takes him to the farm and asks Leonor and Teresita for help.

Mercedes explains to Manuel that she was behind the attack on his sister and apologizes. As she leaves, she is observed by her cousin and niece, who are suspicious of the visit. Herminia wants to take revenge on Lucrecia's mother and prepares a potion to bewitch her. The woman consumes the concoction and begins to rave in front of her entire family. The worker of the Echeñique house finds a moment alone with Violeta and gives her some earrings as a gift. The young woman is very happy, but María quickly discovers the gift and forces her daughter to return it. In the midst of her madness, Mercedes stated that she would be the one to marry Ignacio and not her daughter. Manuel receives an unexpected letter from his beloved at his house, where she asks him to meet in the garden. Upon arriving, the worker realizes that Teresita pretended to be his mother, just to see him.

Herminia accompanies Luis Emilio to the brothel and while they bet at cards, the band of the mansion plays a well-known Chilean song. The boss's son is very drunk after the night of partying, and Maria's sister takes advantage of the opportunity to search his belongings. When she opens his briefcase, she finds a lot of money and also a deed in her mother's name. Luis Emilio makes up a whole lie so that his father does not punish him for the theft, but Buenaventura exposes him in front of his boss. Manuel asks Maria to explain what is happening, and she ends up confessing to him that he and Jose Luis are brothers and that is why Renato gave the land to Mama Bernarda. The worker decides to claim the land that belongs to the Pradenas from Leonor's husband and provokes a chase where anyone could get hurt.

Teresita confronts Leonor harshly and reveals that she knows she has feelings for Manuel. José Luis discovers the worker in the forest and points a revolver at him. He manages to escape the attack, but they get into a fierce fight. The owner of the farm ends up falling off a cliff, despite the fact that María's brother wanted to help him. Lucrecia sees Mercedes and Ignacio kissing and takes the opportunity to confess her true sexual orientation to her future husband. After this, José Luis wakes up several hours later and in a moment of rage demands that Manuel kill him. The worker objects and reveals that they are both brothers. The next day, Violeta's uncle sneaks through the Echeñique field and visits the land that belongs to him and his sisters. Things between Teresita and Leonor are more tense than ever and everything gets complicated when the young woman tells her mother that she saw her kissing Manuel.

Ignacio reveals to José Luis that he will return to the seminary, so his marriage to Lucrecia is called off. He does not take his eldest son's decision well at all and subjects him to a series of blows to make him reconsider. Leontina finds the herb with which Herminia poisoned Mercedes and gives her one day to leave the hacienda. Manuel proposes to Leonor that they go together. She does not accept and he judges her for her decisions. In the midst of all the chaos with his eldest son, José Luis goes to visit María, however, Violeta discovers them in an intimate situation. The young woman confronts her mother for allowing the abuse and also confronts Buenaventura for not defending his wife. Mercedes begs her daughter to marry her fiancé, since if she does not, her life could be in serious danger. José Luis takes Ignacio to the Church and Leonor's cousin does the same with Lucrecia. The young man only wants to play with the tenant and asks her for "proof of love" so that he can think of revealing to everyone the supposed love he has for her. Lucrecia decides to ask Herminia for help to escape from the marriage and both go to Manuel, who could hide her for a few days. The next day, José Luis finds a letter from his daughter-in-law and demands that Mercedes explain to him why she left the hacienda.

On the other hand, Ignacio dares to tell his parents that his wife left because he told her that he is in love with another woman and almost reveals that she is Mercedes. Lucrecia returns to the hacienda to pack her bags, but she is intercepted by her husband, who proposes that they act as if they were a happy marriage to leave José Luis happy, but that each one make her life her own.

José Luis threatens Lucrecia harshly, but she does not let her father-in-law subdue her. While Manuel takes a walk along the river, he realizes that there is something strange at the bottom and makes an incredible discovery. Leonor's husband goes to church to confess his sins and pray. While there, he thinks he sees his father and has a violent conversation, which Leontina manages to stop. On the other hand, Teresita goes to visit Manuel and after asking him if his father killed a man, she expresses her love and kisses him. However, the worker stops her and asks her to leave. Violeta breaks one of the decorations in José Luis's room and he notices. To compensate for the lack, the boss asks the young woman to show him an intimate part of her body and out of fear she obeys him.

José Luis's attack on Manuel will have repercussions, since María and Herminia tend to his wounds, instance in which Manuel reveals to them why he was gathering men: he found gold. On the other hand, Leonor asks Luis Emilio to find a man for her sister, while Violeta tells everything to her mother.

Teresita loses control because she wants to be with Manuel. Since there is no way to calm the young woman down, Leontina and Ignacio take her to the bathroom and immerse her in cold water, a remedy that works. Leonor leaves her house late at night and takes a basket of food to Maria's brother. When she returns, José Luis discovers that his wife has gone out and she has no other option than to tell him that she went to Manuel's. The man becomes furious and punishes her harshly, going so far as to mistreat her. Ignacio decides to visit Teresita, since her mother decided that she should be locked in her room. There, the young woman takes the opportunity to tell her brother that her mother is in love with the worker. Violeta asks Herminia to go and deliver her breakfast, since she is afraid of the boss. Buenaventura has learned that Violeta was attacked by a man and is looking for revenge. Precisely, Leontina tells him that she heard her daughter crying for an alleged abuse, Buenaventura goes to Maria, who confirms this news and tells him that Manuel has already caught the person responsible. Blinded by revenge, Buenaventura takes his gun and goes to where they had the man trapped. Without listening to the man, Buenaventura shoots him, leaving everyone in shock. On the other hand, Violeta's abuse reaches the ears of several people, including Luis Emilio who then tells the truth to Ignacio. On the other hand, Mercedes, Lucrecia and Ignacio manage to get Teresita not to reveal the whole truth to her family. This last blow leaves José Luis on the verge of an economic crisis, forcing him to resort to Lucrecia's money to solve his problems. After the devastating fire and the million-dollar losses, José Luis asks Leonor to convince Ignacio to use part of Lucrecia's fortune. Leonor accepts the task, but when looking for her eldest son, she surprises him kissing Mercedes, thus revealing her deepest secret.

Violeta is still traumatized by what happened with José Luis, something that Leontina cannot understand and begins to treat her badly, at which point María intervenes. Likewise, Lucrecia sets conditions for Mercedes to pretend to be a "good wife."

Another important moment was Leontina confronting Manuel about his nightly walks in the Querencia. Likewise, Mercedes was in shock after seeing Ignacio leave Herminia's house.

Violeta experiences an emotional moment with Buenaventura, where he promises to protect her from the boss. Leonor forbids Teresita to marry Manuel, while the young woman insists on fighting for her love. José Luis is also against his daughter's actions, however, when she tells Luis Emilio that the worker is his brother, he comes up with a plan. The young man asks his father to accept the marriage engagement, since it will be easier to take away his land. José Luis goes to talk to Manuel and tells him the proposal. Although he is not interested in the young woman, he still thinks about the situation, since it could also bring him great profits. Leonor wants to avoid the union at all costs and asks her lover to stay away from Teresita. At that moment, he invites her to live with him, but she ends up rejecting him. Mercedes accuses Ignacio with José Luis and tells him that he is visiting Herminia. This action causes an irrevocable break between them.

Leonor asks Luis Emilio to hurry up Juan Cristóbal's arrival, because she wants him to make her daughter fall in love with her. Teresita fears that her marriage to Manuel will be interrupted and asks José Luis to bring forward the date. On the other hand, Mercedes visits Manuel to tell him that Leonor has decided to stay with her husband, so he has the path clear to marry Teresita. José Luis is worried because Ignacio has not given him grandchildren. When he begins to pressure him, the young man tells him that his wife does not like men. The owner of the ranch loses control of the situation and harshly punishes Lucrecia. When Mercedes realizes this, she tries to reproach her brother-in-law, but receives a dangerous threat in return.

Juan Cristóbal arrives at the ranch and Leonor immediately asks him to approach her daughter, as she wants to prevent their engagement. As a symbol of welcome, Luis Emilio invites his friend to Aunt Carmen's house and they both show off by singing a popular song. José Luis calls Mercedes and ruthlessly kicks her out of the ranch. Despite her asking for a chance, he is firm in his decision. On the other hand, María finds a diary among Juan Cristóbal's things and asks her daughter to read the news to her. Suddenly, Violeta sees a photo of Manuel and finds out that he is being sought for an alleged attack. Ignacio notices that Mercedes is very sad and she confesses that her father wants her out of the ranch as soon as possible. Herminia goes to see Lucrecia and they have a nice moment. The next day, the young woman visits the worker at her home and asks her if she has feelings for her, a situation that ends in a shy but complicit kiss.

Manuel reveals to Maria that he was part of an anarchist group that burned his boss and other workers, for that reason the justice published his photo in the newspaper. However, the worker also explains to his sister that he had nothing to do with the attack, but that they are still looking for him for leading the movement. Mercedes asks Juan Cristóbal to help Lucrecia and he proposes to perform a hypnosis session on her. On the other hand, Juan Cristóbal offers Luis Emilio, Lucrecia, Teresita and Violeta a "remedy" to lift their spirits, all in the middle of a wild party. Buenaventura's daughter becomes ill and the doctor decides to drop her off at her house, worrying her parents. Leonor decides to risk everything for Manuel's love, goes to his house and confesses her sincere feelings.

Juan Cristóbal hypnotizes Lucrecia and she immediately begins to have memories of her childhood. José Luis desperately searches for Leonor, but Leontina covers for him and tells him that she went horseback riding. Teresita's mother arrives home after spending the night with Manuel and explains what happened. Left alone with the housekeeper, she asks her if she is in love with her husband and she confirms it, confirming the reason why she is helping her. The more Lucrecia sleeps, the more memories she has. The young woman remembers her father and reveals that her mother left him when he was very sick for another man, a situation that saddens her greatly and makes her burst into tears. After the session, Juan Cristóbal tells Mercedes everything that happened and she tries to talk to her daughter, but does not get a good reception. Manuel, José Luis and Luis Emilio set off to meet up with the gold buyer, when suddenly they are intercepted by a group of hooded men.

Épisode 33 - La trampa de José Luis para robarle el oro a Manuel

José Luis and Luis Emilio admit that the robbery was a plan, but they continue to lie to everyone, even though they sell the gold on the outside. The boss visits the worker and asks him to fire all his workers, since the robbers have most likely left there. The situation causes Manuel to worry, since he does not know how he will pay the tenants' wages. However, Herminia lends him a hand and lends him enough money to cover that debt. Ignacio discovers his brother counting a lot of money and he has no other choice but to reveal to him that the robbery was a farce. The young man confronts his father for his lie and as a result Luis Emilio receives a painful punishment. Juan Cristóbal manages to identify that Manuel was involved in an attack in the north and asks him for explanations. Leonor hears everything and loses all the trust she had in the man. Everything ends in a strong Leonor and Manuel, which is observed from afar by the doctor.
