Since the first rhymes flowed in the parks of the South Bronx, most of rap's major emcees have been African American. Then, in 1985, NYC's Beastie Boys crossed over rap's race divide to great acclaim. LATER, in 1999, Marshall "Eminem" Mathers did the same, becoming the undisputed KING of RAP. But Slim Shady is slowing down, and VH1 is majorly concerned about rap's future. Who will be the next great white emcee of the new millennium? That's the question that will be answered on the new VH1 series, Ego Trip's White Rapper Show. Hosted by white rap legend Michael "MC Serch" Berrin (of the group 3rd Bass - the missing link between the Beasties and Eminem) - and produced with Ken Mok and his 10x10 production team (the folks behind the superhit America's Next Top Model), Ego Trip's White Rapper Show will go where no man has gone before ... to find rap's next great white hopes. Set in the birthplace of hip hop-the South Bronx-12 contestants hailing from all over America will have to find a way to make it through challenges that will test their musical cred, knowledge of hip hop culture and their ideas about race along the way, hip hop pioneers of all hues will be brought in to school and critique our eager rappin' competitors. the winner recieves $100,000 and a whole nation of devoted fans. It won't be easy. The run-down South Bronx tenement that they'll be bunking in - a.k.a. "Tha White House" - is far from a bed of roses. But Hip hop is about survival; about economics and class and race. Our 12 contestants will be faced with a variety of tasks that will reflect each of these facets of the culture. From spitting fresh rhymes in Harlem's Rucker Park to breaking bread with some of hip hop's hottest icons, our Caucasian contestants will be immersed in the culture they claim to love. But do they have the knowledge, talent and ability to, as MC Serch says, lead the culture? Or will they bleed the culture? Ego Trip's White Rapper Show on VH1 will leave

Épisode 1 - Tha White House

8 janvier 2007

Ten eager (white) rappers from across the country arrive in the South Bronx with nothing except their skills, heart, and dreams of winning $100,000. As they meet their new neighbors, will they be accused of infiltrating a 'hood that has been doing just fine without them? Meanwhile, back at Tha White House, the show's funky headquarters, John Brown finds himself in a heated encounter with Sullee, Persia... and Persia's dildo. After the dust settles (and, trust us, it's dusty in that crazy-ass crib), Serch enlightens one rapper by teaching a very heavy lesson.

Épisode 2 - Episode 2

15 janvier 2007

Nine remaining rappers embark on a hip-hop history tour including sightings of Old School pioneers Kurtis Blow and Grandmaster Caz. But the biggest surprise awaits at tour's end as the emcees face a musical onslaught that leaves their heads spinning. Afterwards, one rapper's low self-esteem imperils the future of the fellow housemates. With things heating up during the competition, strong emotions spill over into everyone's personal lives as well... with one lucky fellow meeting Misfit under the sheets. But will he close the deal?

Épisode 3 - Episode 3

22 janvier 2007

Serch informs the eight rappers that they finally get to hit the studio. Legendary producer Prince Paul drops in for a visit, which leads to an unexpected test of knowledge and nerves. If that weren't enough, Dipset's very own Juelz Santana offers up some hearty advice during a tasty night out. By episode's end, four rappers get the chance to break bread while the other four get grilled...and one unlucky emcee gets toasted.

Épisode 4 - Episode 4

29 janvier 2007

A big dream of our remaining seven emcees gets fulfilled when they get to work with one of today's top hip-hop producers, Just Blaze. But it's gonna take pure fire to win this episode's challenge. Only those who can burn up the club with heat (and make some special ladies shake what they mama gave 'em) will be allowed to stay in Tha White House. But will anyone be offended by the elimination task involving (gasp!) panties? Watch for an appearance by everybody's favorite crazy rap weirdo, the one-and-only Kool Keith.

Épisode 5 - Episode 5

5 février 2007

After the half-dozen rappers left are scrutinized on their personal appearance by none other than fashion mogul Marc Ecko, a trip to a Queen's landmark fills one emcee's head with crazy ideas about what it means to shine. And later a mysterious (and possibly deranged) presence in the house rattles everyone to the core. With more cameras pointed at the cast than usual (and a cameo by music video director Lil' X) who will be blinded by the artificial light of glitz and fame? And who will allow the temptation of booze and some visiting vixens to cause them to lose their cool? Tune in and find out.

Épisode 6 - Episode 6

12 février 2007

NYC's sweltering summer heat is no comparison to the tempers that boil over during a visit to top-rated radio station Hot 97, which leads to locked horns with the outspoken Miss Jones. Old rivalries are rekindled and things once again get physical. And if the visit by hardcore rapper Saigon doesn't help the contestants understand just how tough the rap game really is, then the unexpected arrival of the paramedics does. When the smoke clears, the "SuperThug" N.O.R.E. gives two of the cast a piece of his mind. In the end, it's uncertain who will have the stamina it takes to be a big-time rap star.

Épisode 7 - Episode 7

19 février 2007

The surviving rappers pack their bags and continue on to their next impossible mission: waging jihad in the Mecca of (white) hip-hop. But after a month of getting comfy in the South Bronx will they adapt to their new home away from home, "Tha House of D?" Later, Serch finds himself in coach-mode when he provides some definitive advice before releasing our emcees into a lion's den. It's survival of the fittest and only the strong will survive.

Épisode 8 - Episode 8

26 février 2007

Our final two emcees battle with anxiety and warm up for their final showdown with a half-time spectacle at the famous Rucker Park in Harlem. The Bronx don Fat Joe shows up to encourage our finalists to do their best. But the real test comes when the finalists discover in the end that the music biz is pure hell. Literally. Only one emcee is gonna be white-hot enough to win, while the other one will go down in flames, yo.
