Épisode 1 - Ghost Maiden

The Paranormal Investigations Club – a club consisting of three members: Niiya Teiichi, Kanoe Kirie and Okonogi Momoe, with a ghost president – quite literally. Kanoe Yuuko is the ghost of a girl that died in the old school building at Seikyou Academy and now haunts the school as a wandering spirit, with only Teiichi and Kirie being able to see her.

Niiya Teiichi, a freshman at Seikyou Academy has managed to get himself lost inside the abandoned old school building. If you stand in front of a big mirror somewhere in the building and look over your shoulder, it’s said that you’ll be dragged into the mirror by a ghost. When Teiichi finds the mirror, he meets and is escorted back outside by a girl called Kanoe Yuuko, who introduces herself as the ghost of the old school building. However, Yuuko can’t remember anything about her death and so she starts a club with Teiichi to figure out the cause behind it. One day, a girl called Okonogi Momoe turns up to the club asking for help, to get rid of a spirit that she had “summoned” during a game of Underground Demon that went wrong. Teiichi realizes that the whole game is based on self-suggestion, and stages a scene to get rid of the “spirit”.

A relative of Yuuko, Kanoe Kirie contacts Teiichi and warns him that Yuuko is actually an evil spirit that is haunting Teiichi, but he doesn’t listen to her. Later, Kirie awkwardly catches Teiichi and Yuuko but again tells him he is being deceived; when Teiichi turns around he sees a hideous form of Yuuko that he immediately runs away from. When they go down to Yuuko’s remains to investigate more, Kirie realizes she was mistaken as Yuuko really did die from being trapped in an accident. Teiichi decides to view Yuuko in the way he did before, and Kirie joins the Paranormal Investigations Club.

The Paranormal Investigations Club go for a summer training camp at school, staying in one of the old school buildings to look for paranormal activity. Yuuko, jealous that Teiichi isn’t spending time with her plays a prank on him over a so-called “Rock of Curses”, and Kirie wants to find out more about the other evil spirit that she sensed the presence of.

Meanwhile, Kirie and Momoe go looking for decorations to spruce up the house and end up touring the festival and helping out at an imouto maid cafe.

As the school festival continues, the Paranormal Investigations club learns about a rumor about Akahito, a masked blood-covered monster that kills anyone who stays late during school as a sacrifice. But the rumor turns in fact when Akahito is spotted during the festival and a student named Yuuko Kirishima claims she was attacked by Akahito which sends the superstitious students hysteric. However, Teiichi discovers Kirishima was behind the Akahito story as she wants to destroy ghosts stories because the students bully her for having the same name as the ghost Yuuko. Kirishima makes a claim to her superstitious friends that the only way to stop Akahito from killing them is to sacrifice Yuuko the ghost, but paranoid and hysteric, they intend to sacrifice Kirishima, believing she and Yuuko are the same person. The club stops the superstitious students by having Yuuko disguise herself as Akahito where she chases the students out for offering the wrong sacrifice. With her ordeal over, Kirishima leaves but not before apologizing to Yuuko. Meanwhile, Kirie and Momoe leaves the bell tower after helping scare the superstitious students until Kirie encounters the shadow ghost.

Teiichi notices Yuuko has been acting strange as she unknowingly keeps lashing out everytime he spends time with Momoe. He confines this to Kirie who tells him she saw the shadow ghost again. With the strange things she's been noticing lately, Kirie concludes the shadow ghost is actually a literal split personality of Yuuko which contains the darker side of her. Soon Kirie, Teiichi and Yuuko encounters "Shadow Yuuko", who reveals to them she is the embodiment of Yuuko's hatred and the painful memories she wanted to forget. Yuuko runs away denying what the Shadow said where Teiichi catches up with her at the Rock of Curses when he notices it is actually a memorial stone dedicated to the towns folk who died in a plague 60 years ago which also includes Yuuko's name. Realizing all of the school's ghost stories are actually connected to Yuuko, Teiichi now knows how Yuuko died; she was offered as a living sacrifice to stop the plague 60 years ago. Shadow Yuuko appears again, revealing the harsh truth that Yuuko doesn't want to hear; Yuuko was made as a sacrifice against her will. The next day, Yuuko continues to hang around with Teiichi but is much more quiet. Believing Teiichi is seeing her as Shadow Yuuko, Shadow Yuuko takes over Yuuko and pushes him off the stairs much to Yuuko's horror. When a healed and bandaged Teiichi returns to the club room, he encounters Yuuko but much to his shock, she doesn't recognize who he is.
Épisode 8 - Maiden of Recollection

Yuuko tells Teiichi to leave her alone, believing she forgotten him for causing her painful memories. Kirie concludes everytime Yuuko experience a painful memory, she has it removed from her mind and into Shadow Yuuko. Unable to bear seeing Yuuko not recognizing him, he starts spending time with Momoe to the point he can longer see Yuuko. Kirie confronts him if he just going to forget Yuuko like that when she is mysteriously push away from him. After talking with Momoe and reading her logbook about the Paranormal Investigations club, Teiichi starts to remember Yuuko and his feelings for her. Wishing to bring her memories back, he rushes to the club room and drags Yuuko to her favorite spot, telling her about the times they spend together and confesses he loves her. Yuuko finally remembers who Teiichi is and tells him she loves him as well. At the club room, Kirie finds an old picture of Yuuko when Shadow Yuuko arrives, realizing if was she that pushed her. But in a sudden twist, Shadow Yuuko ask Kirie who is she.
Épisode 9 - Maiden of Hatred

Shadow Yuuko approaches Kirie but disappears thanks to the timely arrival of Momoe. She tells about her encounter with Teiichi and Yuuko but to Kirie and Teiichi's shock, Yuuko tells them she has never meet Shadow Yuuko nor she knows about the school's mysteries. They soon realizes Yuuko has selectively pushed her negative memories into Shadow Yuuko again after noticing she has become more stubborn and embarrassed than before. As the Paranormal Investigations club heads home, Yuuko feels hurt and lonely without Teiichi and has a brief flashback of her painful past. Shadow Yuuko appears before Yuuko, telling her she has hated Yuuko for pushing their negative memories into her and is bitterly jealous that she has Teiichi who loves her. As she tries to force Yuuko to remember their past, Teiichi saves her from Shadow Yuuko. They try to escape from school but Yuuko cannot leave the school grounds. As Shadow Yuuko tries to grab Yuuko, Teiichi pushes her away from Yuuko, only to see flashbacks of Yuuko's past. When he wakes up, Teiichi finds himself seeing Yuuko's past from her body.
Épisode 10 - Maiden of Defeat

Teiichi experiences Yuuko's life 60 years ago where she live with her sister Yukariko Kanoe, Kirie's grandmother. Despite a plague killing the townsfolk, Yuuko continue taking care of Asa, a young girl whose family was killed by the plague, believing everything will get better. However, Yuuko and Yukariko eavesdrops a meeting between the sick town elders, who believe the plague was punishment by the gods for building the school over a destroyed shrine. To appease the gods, the elders plan to sacrifice a young child and hide it by claiming the child was another victim of the plague. Fearing for Asa's safety, the Kanoe sisters bring her into their home but Asa is kidnapped when the sisters went bathing which Yuuko runs to the school to save her. Asa, who is forced by the elders to play the role of Akahito to choose a sacrifice, unknowingly chooses Yuuko. The hysterical elders grabs Yuuko and throw her into the underground shrine, sealing the entrance. As she slowly bleeds from a broken leg and her cries for help unanswered, Yuuko dies peacefully, refusing to blame anyone for her fate and glad Asa and Yukariko were safe. However, this leads to the birth of Shadow Yuuko, who hates Yuuko for not blaming anyone, including the elders for her death and Yuuko becoming a ghost with no memories of her past.
Épisode 11 - Maiden of Bitter Tears

Teiichi wakes up from his dream of Yuko's past to find that almost no time has passed in the "real" world. Upon touching Teiichi's hand, the memories he now has of her resurface, and she becomes unable to see or hear him. After some time of communicating via the club's logbook, Teiichi asks Kirie to meet her grandmother. She obliges, and Teiichi discovers that Yukariko Kanoe is the current chairman of the school and can also see Shadow Yuko. She also reveals that shortly after Yuko's death, the ones that killed her died of fear after seeing Shadow Yuko. Armed with this knowledge, Teiichi confronts Yuko again, smashing up the club room in an attempt to get her attention and forces Shadow Yuko to appear. Teiichi then declares that he loves and accepts both Yukos, which causes them to accept each other and merge back into one, with Yuko regaining her latent emotions and all her memories of the past. Finally, Teiichi reveals from what Yukariko told him that Asa is his grandmother. With joy, Yuko declares that her sacrifice was not in vain because thanks to it, she could meet him.
Épisode 12 - The Dusk Maiden

As the old school building was closed, Yuko's body was found and is given a proper burial. After the burial Yuko and Teiichi spend the day of a date, even though Yuko cannot leave the school; during the date Yuko starts to slowly fade away, stating that she existed as a ghost because she had to reunite with her other self; after an argument about them breaking up Teiichi tells Yuko that he loves her and so they spend the rest of the date in the club room until she fades away. After some time Momoe tells Teiichi that the old building wasn't demolished because of it's historic value and asks for his help to revive the club. Eventually Teiichi goes to the club room and founds a box that says "Open me and I'll curse you", he opens it and to his surprise Yuko shows up stating that she's now bound to him due to their last kiss.
Épisode 13 - Maiden of Exorcism

Tired of Yuko's antics for causing more ghost stories to be spread amongst the students, Kirie challenges her to a series of games which if Yuko loses, she must now behave. But to Kirie's anger, Yuko wins the contest. Momoe shows an old letter to the Paranormal Investigations club which contains ghost stories which predate before Yuko enrollment to the school. With Momoe interested, the club decides investigate the stories one by one which leads to many funny moments and embarrassments for everyone. After the awkward time with the haunted bath story, the club discovers the letter was written in invisible ink done by the "Paranormal Investigations club". Momoe realizes the stories were in fact written by the original Paranormal Investigations club for fun in the past before they became the current newspaper club. Realizing they were just like their predecessors, Teiichi and the girls decides to wear yutakas and play fireworks at the school rooftops that night.

Série qui suite bien le manga d'origine mais qui que fait que les premiers tome de la série, donc l'histoire reste un peu en plan à ce niveau là mais ...

Juste pour dire... Y'a 13 épisodes, même si le 13e ne sert pas réellement a l'histoire.
