However, he soon discovers that it will not be a simple process, especially upon realizing that the neighboring ranch, Joya, is his rival for the land. Genaro Peña is disturbed by Doménica's arrival, fearing that she will ruin the shady dealings he has been conducting thanks to the Joya ranch. Doménica meets Luis Fernando for the first time in an encounter where both air their grievances, each claiming to be encroaching on the other's land. Doménica is unwilling to talk to him, as she feels he is just another person trying to exploit her kindness.

Kiara descobre a mentira: a fazenda pertence a sua prima. Após os desentendimentos que Doménica teve com a família de Bartolo, ela decide repor os objetos queimados no incêndio causado por Genaro, mas Bartolo fica na defensiva e Doménica se irrita. Após a acalorada discussão, Luis Fernando fica intrigado com o comportamento de Doménica e decide investigar um pouco sobre ela na internet, deparando-se com uma terrível verdade.

Doménica begins to doubt Genaro and orders him to hand over the farm's accounts since his arrival. Genaro is in shock because he knows he has done wrong. Doménica arrives at the "Espejo de Luna" farm to reconcile with Luis Fernando, but during their conversation, he innocently mentions Max Langer, and she explodes in anger, slapping him. Silvia and Kiara decide to sell Doménica's engagement ring, but everything goes wrong when Silvia starts playing with the ring in the car. Kiara gets distracted and accidentally runs over a pregnant woman, unaware that she is Luis Fernando's sister-in-law.

Luis Fernando immediately takes Doménica to the hospital upon realizing that her life is in danger due to the spider bite she suffered.

Doménica goes to Luis Fernando's ranch to clarify that she has nothing to do with the falsified deeds. However, she arrives drunk, leaving Luis Fernando stunned by her condition. Doménica confronts Genaro for giving her the false deeds. Genaro defends himself, claiming he knew nothing and that the real culprit is Cosme, who provided them. Fuensanta suggests to Genaro that they find someone else to blame before they are implicated as accomplices in the falsified documents. Fuensanta gets rid of her husband, Cosme, leaving behind evidence incriminating him as the one responsible for the land fraud, exonerating herself and Genaro.
