In the opening episode of TV's longest running prime-time series, we're treated to a whirlwind tour of the Walt Disney Studios, and introduced to Walt Disney's newest venture -- a theme park called Disneyland. Future episodes are also previewed, as well as a little history on Disney's first sucess, Mickey Mouse. Three cartoons are featured: The ""Laughing Place"" segment from Song of the South (1946), Lonesome Ghosts (1937), and ""The Sorcerer's Apprentice"" from Fantasia (1940). This episode is featured on the ""Disneyland USA"" 2-disc DVD.

The second half of the program is the Oscar-winninng first 'True-Life Adventure' Seal Island (1949). It depicts the annual migration of fur seals from Alaska to their birthplace on the Pribilof Islands. Rex Allen is the narrator.

A scrapbook read by Walt Disney sets up the showings of several cartoons: Orphans' Benefit (1934), Honey Harvester (1949), Tea for Two Hundred (1948),Donald's Dream Voice (1948), and Three for Breakfast (1948). Along the way, Donald invades Walt's office to remind him ""...who the star really is"", and faces-off with his alter ego, Clarence ""Ducky"" Nash. (Or is that the other way around?)

Disney's first all live-action feature, based on the classic by Robert Louis Stevenson, is featured in this two-part episode. In part 1, young Jim Hawkins is given a treasure map by the dying Captain Billy Bones. The map details the location of the famed 'treasure island', named so for a mountain of treasure put there by the priate Flint. Hawkins sets sail aboard the Hispaniola as a cabin boy in search of the island. Also on board is a one-legged ship's cook, Long John Silver, who in reality, is the pirate who betrayed and murdered Flint in the first place.

Based on a novel by Stewart Edward White, Andy Burnett stars Jerome Courtland as the title character, the grandfather of an 18th century frontiersman who heads westward in 1820 in hopes of becoming a farmer. In the first episode, ""Andy's Initiation"", Andy meets a rough-and-ready trapper named Joe Crane (Jeff York who intends to ply his trade in the mountains of the west. At first reluctant to join Joe in this mission, Andy is forced to do so when his bankroll conveniently turns up missing.

Épisode 1 - The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca

Synopsis Elfego Baca was another of several miniseries developed by producer Walt Disney in hopes of matching the earlier success of the Davy Crockett programs. Originally telecast on the Walt Disney Presents anthology, this newest effort was launched with the first of its teen episodes, ""The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca"". Based on the memoirs of the real-life Baca, the miniseries stars Robert Loggia as the title character, a former gunslinger who becomes a lawyer in 1880s New Mexico. Arriving in the town of Frisco, Elfego Baca subdues a drunken rowdy, much to the delight of the townsfolk and the embarrassment of the cowardly sheriff. Deputized by the local justice of the peace, Elfego learns that he has been marked for death by the drunk's scurrilous friends. The bad guys try to kill Baca with gun and with gunpowder, but he proves to have more lives than a cat. Based on a true incident, ""The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca"" was later edited together with the second episode in the miniseries, ""

In the sixth episode of Walt Disney's ten-part miniseries Elfego Baca, the titular hero (Robert Loggia, a gunslinger-turned-lawyer, defends British-born rancher Cecil Cunningham (Patrick Knowles), who has been accused of murdering land baron Drew Griswold. According to witnesses, Griswold had been fooling around with Cyril's wife (Audrey Dalton), thereby firmly establishing a motive. In court, Baca finds that he must go face to face with his former law partner J. Henry Newman (James Dunn, the newly appointed District Attorney--while outside the courtroom, the dead man's relatives begin forming a lynch mob. Originally telecast on the Walt Disney Presents anthology, ""The Griswold Murder"" and the fifth Elfego Baca episode ""Attorney at Law"" were edited together in 1962 and released as a theatrical feature, Six-Gun Law.

One of producer Walt Disney's more blatant efforts to duplicate the success of his early TV miniseries Davy Crockett, the eight-part The Swamp Fox featured another flamboyant frontiersman hero who wore coonskin-cap-style headgear, and whose adventures were introduced with a catchy, memorable theme song. Based on a book by Dr. Robert D. Bass, The Swamp Fox stars Leslie Nielsen as real-life American patriot Francis Marion, a wealthy landowner who during the Revolutionary War led a hardy band of guerilla fighters against the Redcoats and pro-British tories in his native South Carolina. The villain of the piece (at least in the first few episodes) was another actual historical figure, the ruthless Banastre Tarleton (John Sutton), an officer in the British Green Dragoons (Marion and Tarleton later served as the models for the hero and villain, respectively, of the 1999 Mel Gibson film Patriot). In the second episode of Walt Disney's eight-part miniseries The Swamp Fox, the Redcoats have retaliated against the raids of Colonel Francis Marion's guerillas by burning down their homes. While Francis (Leslie Nielsen) advises his men to wait before striking back, his own brother Gabriel (Dick Foran) is in no mood to bide his time. Gabriel has vowed vengeance in particular against the pro-Tory Videaux family, even though Mary Videaux (Joy Page is in love with Francis. What neither Gabriel nor the Redcoats realize is that Mary is secretly working on the guerillas' behalf, spying on the British and reporting their activities to Francis.

In secret, the Swamp Fox tells his fiancee of Toby's death, and tries to determine if Tarleton now knows of her scheme of espionage. Reaching no definite decision, Fran tells her to meet him at his brother's place later. Colonel Tarleton, arriving at the Townes plantation, insists he be allowed to take Mary home. On the trip, he accuses her of sending a message to Marion, but she stands her ground. Tarleton obviously lacks proof, but before the matter is resolved, Marion arrives, disarms Tarleton, and orders ""the lady"" to continue on her way. The Tories have devised a plot to control the salt and medicine in the colonies in an effort to break Rebel resistance. The Swamp Fox enlists the aid of Mary Videaux, his fiancee, to procure the much needed medicine for him. Mary is still believed by many to be a Loyalist, and she convinces Colonel Tarleton to let her have the quinine and salt. While meeting her at Monck's Corner, Francis finds Amos Briggs in a tavern and captures him with the aid of Old Joseph, Toby's father. With Briggs held captive, Marion returns to camp with Mary--she insists on nursing his sick men back to health--and orders the Tory locked in a crude holding cell. Following the Swamp Fox's capture of Colonel Townes, General Cornwallis goes to the Videaux Plantation to recruit a new Tory leader--Mary's father. Videaux doesn't offer an answer immediately, and Mary pleads with Fran not to wage war against her father. Colonel Tarleton devises a plan to trap Marion--by having British troopers impersonate Patriots who wish to join his band of Freedom Fighters. But Francis sniffs out the plot, and leads the British through the swamp. In the ensuing battle, his followers defeat Tarleton soundly, forcing him to return to the Videaux Plantation. Marion elects to let him feel comfortable there, and the episode ends.

When Colonel Tarleton sees Mary Videaux kissing General Marion, he begins to suspect that Mary is not the Tory she claims to be. He sets a trap for her and catches her trying to pass information to the Swamp Fox. Tarleton then arrests her and has her taken to Charleston to be held. The Swamp Fox plots to help her escape, eventually ending up at a masquerade ball that Mary has been invited to attend. Tarleton then has everyone ""unmasked"", and both Mary and Fran are taken back to the prison tower. A small group of Freedom Fighters that Marion had smuggled into the fort with him then storm the tower, and the Swamp Fox and his fiancee are freed--he to return to the fight, and she to board a ship bound for New Orleans to pass the remainder of the war.

the ninth episode of Elfego Baca, frontier lawyer Baca (Robert Loggia) accepts a stallion in payment for helping beleagured cattleman Frank Oxford (Ray Teal). It seems that Rauls Kettrick (Barton MacLane), the town boss of Taota, refuses to return fifty head of Oxford's cattle which ""wandered"" onto Kettrick's land. Pursuing the case through the proper legal channels, Baca obtains a warrant to search Kettrick's property, but the warrant is not honored--and Taota's only lawyer, who is in Kettrick's pocket, refuses to take action. Thus it is that Baca must rely upon the strategies of his gunslinging days to bring justice to the situation.

Nevertheless, Zorro leaves Cuchillo with a ""Z"" slashed into his coat and a warning to get out of California.

Once aboard a Patriot's ship and due to leave port bound for New Orleans, Mary Videaux discovers a ship holding Patriot captives is also in the harbor. She leaves the safety of the ship Francis had gotten for her, and boards the prisoner ship under the guise of looking for captured relatives. Once aboard, she is allowed to nurse the captives until she is recognized by a visiting British officer. He declares that he must report her to Colonel Tarleton, but the Naval officers allow her to continue nursing while waiting for a response from Tarleton. Given the extra time, Mary plots an escape by the prisoners. They overtake the ship, then escape with a rowboat. They arrive at the Swamp Fox's camp to find that Marion has been seriously contemplating resigning from the Army due to lack of men. With the situation suddenly changed, he sends word to General Greene that he will undertake the orders of procuring three hundred horses for him.

Walt Disney shows the viewing audience dinosaurs that will be used at the 1964 New York World's Fair in which Disneyland will play an important part at. Then a cartoon history of World's Fairs cave men are shown(The Hi-Los sing us the history)that is often hilarious and nonsensical, such as a man with a giant match and another man lighting his cigar in the flame and then the cigar explodes. Some serious material is used also about World Fairs of the 19th Century. Walt then goes into a film history of World's Fairs that are facetious and often hilarious. Walt then gets back to the dinosaurs and to cave men that will be used at the New York World's Fair as we go to the imagineering department of Disneyland. The cave men will be audio-animatronic.Next, Walt shows the Abraham Lincoln exhibit to be used at the Fair. Next, Walt shows us the the Carousel Theatre of Progress, and he shows how audio-animatronics work. It is all recorded on tape, every movement from the mouth movements to the wink of an eye. Then we see a performance of it as the song "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is sung. The episode begins with Walt showing a Disneyland ambassador plans for future attractions: It’s a Small World, The Plaza Inn restaurant, and my two all-time favorite rides, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion (initially called “Museum of the Weird”). We’re then taken inside the park as costumed characters dance in honor of the anniversary, and a parade is put on by an Anaheim school band and cheerleaders. Once Walt recalls the early stages of Disneyland, with footage of when its construction was still in progress, some of the most entertaining segments begin. Eyewitness views show what its like to experience the Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Sailing Ship Columbia, Jungle Cruise, The Enchanted Tiki Room, and the now-closed Submarine Voyage, Nature’s Wonderland, and Flying Saucers attractions. A real treat is a tour of the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse with the Mills Family – John (who plays the father in Swiss Family Robinson), Mary (a screenwriter), and Hayley (the least known member of the family, of course) – set to that infectious organ music! The climax is the Dixieland at Disneyland celebration, in which all sorts of water vessels put on a sparkling musical show.

Three survivors of a deadly shipwreck find refuge aboard the Nautilus, a fantastic submarine thought by many to be some sort of unnatural monster. On board, Professor Arronax, his assistant, Conseil, and sailor Ned Land end up playing a cat and mouse game of escape with the Nautilus' leader, a half-crazed genius named Nemo.

Jones isn't interested in the car, but it follows him home. Cops show up at his place accusing him of stealing the car, which of course he didn't. Jones blames the sleazy car dealer for this, and for the strange behavior the car exhibits when he tries to drive it. The car has a mind of its own, and its special qualities make it good for racing. When Bobby and Julie insist that they cannot leave the animals behind, the converted plane truly becomes a second Noah's Ark.

Also mixed in with the plot is Wilby's brother who is trying to find the perfect dog for a dog food.

So Tigger is rescued and feels sad that he can no longer bounce, but everyone, including Rabbit, agrees they liked the old bouncy Tigger better.

When Fozzie and the Muppet Show gang drop in unexpectedly on Fozzie's grandmother, she is forced to cancel her winter vacation plans and entertain them all. Soon the Sesame Street gang come by as carolers, and then Kermit and Robin discover a Fraggle Rock hole in the basement. The pilot ends with the little girl being sent to live with Claudia and Mel trying to figure out how to defend the woman.

Long ago in a land with an ailing king, there was a pair of boys who looked exactly alike, a pauper called Mickey and the other, the Crown Prince. Mickey dreamed of plenty and an easy life as Royalty and the Prince dreamed of the freedom as a subject. Happenstance throws them together and their mutual resemblence inspires the pair to switch identities to see how the other lives. To their surprise, Mickey learns of the duties and responsibilties of royalty while the Prince learns to his horror that the Royal Captain of the Guard has taken advantage of the existing power vacuum to inflict brutal tyranny on the subjects. Now the Prince must react to this evil, unaware that the Captain knows about the identity swap and is using it to his own advantage while dominating Mickey who play the Heir to the Throne.

Set in Atlanta, Georgia. This is probably one of my favorite TV movies. It's about a black family who is not very wealthy living near a very rich older white woman. Every day the young boy would walk to the school bus and the old white woman's dog would tug at the boys legs and this scared the boy badly. One day, while he and his father were out hunting for small animals, the boy takes the dog and captures him in one of the hunting boxes. Later that night it begins to rain and the dog causes the box to fall over and he drowns to death. The old woman's family is furious about this and orders the black family beat the boy for his wrong doing. When the father refuses calling it an accident the family leaves in a rage. The old white woman begins to hang out with the young black boy after realizing that her dog really was mean to the boy. They become one another's only friends. In the end, the boy has to move away because of such racism and hatred going on. He says goodbye to the woman and

Anyone who is a fan of Charles Dickens will love this movie. The attention to period detail in the costumes and scenery is very good. Some lessons can be learned about human nature as well from this story. Highly recommended.
