Le malveillant Sir John Gloutton, aidé de son capitaine Nathan Spiker , essaye d'expulser Mme Smith et son fils Nicolas de leur auberge "Le Cygne Noir". Désespéré ils se tournent vers Dick Turpin pour demander de l'aide . Turpin a de vieux comptes à régler avec Sir John .

Harry Sims is caught by soldiers led by Captain Venables who is eager to find Turpin. Instead Dr. Mandragola enters The Fox and pays for a room with his last bottle of 'elixir of life' but Turpin's nose estimates it to be whiskey. In the middle of the night the female inn-keeper wakes up Turpin, as she fears Dr. Mandragola is summoning The Devil chanting very loud. Turpin finds him very drunk on the floor. Suddenly Captain Venables and his troops enter The Fox to search for Turpin.

Noll Bridger has Jane's confidence and accompanies her when she has arived in England. Dick Turpin robs Lord and Lady Melford, but later Dick Turpin makes love to Lady Melford and gives a necklace.

As that is about to find its conclusion, Fytton arrives, and his men throw Turpin and Swiftnick into a prison cell already occupied by Isaac Ragg. However Saul is very grateful to Turpin.

A lot of knights of Santa Catherine dressed in hoods like later Ku Klux fanatics in USA overwhelms Turpin, Swiftnick and Jane Harding. A bizarre trial led by their power-mad leader Ignatius Slake judges Turpin to be bound to a wheel of fire which is sent rolling through the landscape.
