The story of the British Asian fight-back against far-right violence from 1976 to 1981. In 1976, young Sikh Gurdip Singh Chaggar is murdered in west London. The National Front are rising. So young British Asians join forces to defend themselves.

It's 1979. A National Front rally in Southall turns violent. Questions about police brutality arise when anti-racist teacher Blair Peach is fatally injured after encountering the notorious Special Patrol Group of the Metropolitan Police.

It's 1981. The Southall Youth Movement clash with skinheads. In a landmark case, youths in Bradford must persuade a jury of their right to self-defence. The case becomes a rallying call with the slogan 'Self defence is no offence'.
