In "Bureau Utrecht," Ewout Genemans spends six months shadowing police officers in Utrecht. He joins six pairs of officers who are on standby day and night to respond to emergencies. Ewout experiences everything with them, from dealing with ATM bombers carrying heavy explosives to rescuing tourists who have gotten into trouble with their canoe. He witnesses citizens turning against officers and encounters weapons on the street. Ewout empathizes with the officers in all sorts of intense situations and gets to know the people behind the uniform.

Officers Frank and Lennart find themselves in a dangerous situation when they are pelted with stones. Ewout steps in himself during a patrol and detains a suspect on the street. Ellen and Yannick respond to a severe assault in the busy city center and are also asked to bring in an aggressive detainee.
