Der ehemalige Klinikchef muss sich dafür verantworten, Müttern zu Zeiten der Franco-Diktatur ihre Neugeborenen weggenommen zu haben, um diese an regimetreue Adoptivfamilien zu geben. Als zwei Nonnen ermordet werden, die damals als Krankenschwestern mit Sánchez auf der Geburtsstation gearbeitet haben, vermuten Kommissarin Fina Valent und ihr Partner Xavi Bonet einen Zusammenhang.

Der Stadtstrand von Barcelona ist eine pulsierende Partymeile. Dort feiert der Gastronom Marc nicht nur die spektakuläre Eröffnung seines Beachclubs, sondern auch ein besonderes Revival. Zum ersten Mal seit Langem kommt seine alte Clique zusammen: die Ärztin Sofia, der IT-ler Sergi, der Schulleiter Alex und der Fotograf Bruno. Plötzlich fällt der Strom aus und Sofia übernimmt wie in ihren legendären Partyzeiten die Regie. Mit der Ausgelassenheit ist es schlagartig vorbei, als Brunos Leiche entdeckt wird. Kommissar Xavi Bonet, der mitgefeiert hat, muss nun in den Ermittlermodus umschalten. Zusammen mit seiner Kollegin Fina Valent findet er heraus, dass sich die Clique wohl kaum aus Nostalgie zusammengefunden hat.
