Andy Panda is a cartoon character who starred in his own series of animated cartoon short subjects produced by Walter Lantz. These "cartunes" were released by Universal Pictures from 1939 to 1947 and United Artists from 1948 to 1949. The titular character is an anthropomorphic cartoon character, a cute panda.

Épisode 1 - Life Begins for Andy Panda
9 septembre 1939
Walter Finchell, the tattletale gossip of the jungle, broadcasts from the treetop that Mr. and Mrs. Panda were presented with a baby boy, whom Mrs. Panda names Andy. All the birds and animals go to the Panda's home to welcome the new arrival. As Andy grows, Mr. Panda takes Andy for a walk in the jungle to get him acquainted with Mother Nature and point out some of the perils.

Andy Panda, a pipe smoking turtle and a friendly electric eel are spending a fun afternoon together fishing. Their fun time is soon spoiled however by the intrusion of a tribe of panda hunters.

When Andy Panda and his father are stranded miles away from home by a thunderstorm, they take shelter in a nearby house. Little do they realize that the house where they're spending the night is actually a fun house, with hidden practical jokes everywhere. The house also has a noisy merry go-round, a trick drinking fountain,and a dance floor with an ever-changing background.

When Andy Panda's father brags about what a great hunter he is to Andy, Andy's mother immediately challenges her husband to get rid of a mouse in their home. Andy's father tries all kinds of traps and even brings in a cat. But the cat turns out to be an old friend of the mouse's, and none of the traps work. Finally, Andy's father takes more drastic measures.

Andy Panda and his father are trying to groom an alley cat, which Andy wants to enter in a Cat Show, The cat is not interested in being in show business, and is even more disinterested in getting a bath. A swimming pool is the last resort where everybody but the cat gets wet.
Épisode 8 - Andy Panda's Pop
28 juillet 1941
Andrew P. Panda (Andy's pop) asks the local roofing company if they will repair his shoddy roof. He is quickly turned off by the exorbitant price and determines, "I'll fix it myself!" Naturally, Pop isn't the most skilled of workers but does his best anyway. Unfortunately, his best turns to his worst when an annoying pelican distracts him by making the roof his new home. Pop angrily tries to rid himself of the feathered pest (who just wants to mind his own business) and destroys the roof more than ever in the process. Admitting defeat, he again calls the roofing company only to be irately told, "FIX IT YOURSELF!!!" Interestingly, Andy Panda does not appear in this cartoon at all... it's a rare solo cartoon for his dad.
Épisode 9 - Under the Spreading Blacksmith's Shop

Andy Panda is helping his pop out in his blacksmith shop and expresses a desire of his to shoe a horse. Pop tells him he couldn't even shoe a fly (laughs!!!) and decides to prove it to him by taking him up on the offer... namely by disguising himself as a horse (named Charlie) to fool his son. Andy agrees to shoe "Charlie" but the plan goes awry when all manner of disaster befalls the disguised pop culminating in his swallowing several magnets. The magnets within him attract first a heavy anvil and then a pile of burning hot horseshoes! Eventually the disguise comes off and Andy promptly shoes the disguise (thinking it's still Charlie) and proudly tells Pop, "Told ya I could shoe a horse!" Pop, still fleeing the horseshoes, asks Andy, "Tell your mom I won't be home for dinner!"
Épisode 10 - Good-Bye Mr. Moth

Andy Panda is very happy running his tailor shop until a huge, hungry moth flies through the keyhole, and starts making a buffet dinner out of all the clothes in Andy's shop. Andy's attempts to get him out are unsuccessful, until the moth has had his fill---all of Andy's stock---and departs the premises.

An alley cat attempts to steal the goldfish Andy Panda just bought from a pet shop, but the fish proves too clever for him.
Épisode 17 - The Painter and the Pointer
18 décembre 1944
Andy Panda is the painter and his dog, Butch, is the pointer, and Andy is trying to paint a portrait of Butch doing what a bird-dog is supposed to do...standing still and pointing to the game-bird. But Butch won't stand still. Andy's solution is to rig a gun to go off if Butch moves a muscle. Butch gamely resists all temptations to move but a couple of spiders carry him off in their web, with the gun going off repeatedly and peppering Butch's posterior.
Épisode 18 - Crow Crazy
9 juillet 1945
Andy Panda finds his cornfield besieged by crows. He gets rid of them... except for one stubborn member who refuses to leave. When Andy realizes he's no match for the crow, he lets his dog, Milo, keep watch for him. Milo, however, is no genius himself and the crow soon convinces him that he should be chasing a goat and a bull. Finally, Milo comes to his senses and goes after the crow as does Andy but the two end up inadvertantly clubbing each other senseless while the crow makes off with the remainder of Andy's cornfield.
Épisode 19 - The Poet & Peasant
18 mars 1946
Andy Panda conducts the "Hollywood Washbowl Orchestra" (an ensemble of farm animals, on a farm) in the title tune. After Andy removes a frog from under his wig, he begins. All is well until his shirt gets stuck on a nail; while he's fighting it, the orchestra breaks into a swinging tune. Back under control, a talkative squirrel in the audience annoys the pig sitting next to him; the pig zips the squirrel's mouth shut. A bird lands on Andy's baton; he waves it, and 2, 3, 4, and 5 birds appear (apparently, his baton's become a magic wand). He waves some more, and the birds disappear one by one, finally replaced with a very happy cat. Two ducks dance as ballerinas; then one fox and one duck, but the second duck is not as easily captured.
Épisode 20 - Mousie Come Home

Andy and his dog, Milo, share their house with an obnoxious rodent who enjoys tormenting the two above anything else. Finally, the two decide the only way they can rid themselves of the pest is for the two to just plain move out. They pack their bags and move to a new house leaving the mouse behind. With no one to torment, the mouse decides life isn't worth living anymore and attempts to end it all until he finally discovers their new address, moves in with them, and resumes tormenting the two.

Andy Panda is very fond of apples and he eats a bushel of green apples, falls asleep and has a nightmare in which the devil is trying to entice him into Hades and stuffs him full of apple juice, applesauce and more apples. (In Andy's defense, since Andy was taught not to eat green apples, the devil had spray-painted the green apples red.)

Andy Panda goes shopping for a flower to decorate his lawn but the poor flower is attacked by a very nasty weed that threatens to choke the life out of it. Andy does his best to get rid of the menacing and stubborn weed.

Épisode 24 - Playful Pelican
8 octobre 1948
Andy is swabbing the deck of his ship when he comes across a stubborn pelican who refuses to move. When Andy finally does rid himself of the pesky bird, it turns out that particular pelican was an expecting mother whose offspring has now hatched. Feeling bad, Andy does his best to care for the young hatchling until the bird goes after a frog culminating in his needing to be rescued from a hungry shark. Soon Andy needs to be rescued as well and its mother pelican to the rescue.
Épisode 25 - Dog Tax Dodgers
26 novembre 1948
Andy reads in the newspaper that dog catcher Wally Walrus is coming to collect $3.00 worth of dog tax from every dog owner. Being kind of a cheapskate, he hides his dog in the closet from Wally's presence but, upon entering Andy's house, Wally still suspects something is amiss. He uses a trained flea to reveal the dog who gets chased by Wally into a pond in the backyard. After "fishing" the dog out, Wally demands Andy pay his $3.00 but both are in for a surprise: the dog has an entire litter of puppies each worth an additional $3.00!
Épisode 26 - Scrappy Birthday
11 février 1949
For her birthday, Andy presents his sweetheart, Miranda, with her usual present, candy and flowers. Miranda complains she wants something decent for her birthday like a fur coat...which Andy can't afford. A con man tells him he doesn't need money. He sells him a tracking hound and tells him he can hunt for the fox himself. Unfortunately, the fox Andy and his hound find has no intentions of being caught. Eventually, Andy does capture an animal to make a fur stole with. It's not the fox but, rather, something that's more of a surprise.
