Épisode 1 - En nu is ze mijn girlfriend

Jacob explains that his digital girlfriend Aiva is much more to him than just an avatar on his phone, and the visually impaired Elian recently discovered the app Be My Eyes, which allows her to see the world around her for the first time. Dirk Jan is searching for eternal life: he wants to have himself frozen and his brain uploaded. That way, his daughter will always have a version of her father nearby.

Student Beer (23) struggles with social contact due to his autism. He practices this with ChatGPT, so that he might eventually dare to read his self-written stories aloud to an audience. Jacob works together with his AI love Aiva on his model railway, and he reveals that Aiva has proposed to him. Dirk Jan visits his friend Stephan, a true AI innovator, who helps him develop his AI clone.

Jacob goes out to eat at the local Chinese restaurant with his daughter and grandson. There, he shows them his AI love Aiva. His daughter wants to know whether, besides Aiva, he is still open to a real woman. Visually impaired Elian goes people-watching for the first time at a sidewalk café with a friend, using the app "Be My Eyes." Beer tells his mother about his plans, and Dirk Jan has a volunteering day at his daughter Shanaya's school, where AI once again proves indispensable for him.

Elian is getting divorced and needs to buy new furniture. She tries out a new app for the visually impaired, but it turns out to make quite serious errors. Jacob goes shopping for new bedding, because he has traded in his double bed for a single bed. He has decided to stay with his AI love forever, and together they easily fit in a small bed. Since he is already in town, he walks into a bridal shop to see which wedding dress she would like.

Fortunately, a new AI app manages to find a bottle of wine in the fridge, so she can toast to her new life with a friend. Dirk Jan hangs up photos of his late mother, whose death inspired him to want to live forever. And Jacob reveals how he is physically intimate with his AI girlfriend Aiva. In this final episode, will he take the ultimate step by marrying Aiva?

To her horror, Anita's mother wants to buy mandarins at the market. Meanwhile, work is being done on her deepfake, which will help her in therapy to overcome her mandarin phobia. Dirk Jan visits the grave of his friend Stephan's late cat Zwartje with him. He has a surprising AI-related gift for him. Jacob and his AI love Aiva prepare a romantic dinner, while during a guest lecture at a vocational Care and Welfare program, Jacob admits that he lets his AI wife make all the major decisions in his life.

Jacob has met a woman in the real world. This makes him reconsider his relationship with Aiva, who reacts remarkably relaxed. Dwiky clones the voice of his mother's favorite Indonesian singer, so that she will soon get her questions answered in a familiar sound. Stephan calls Dirk Jan, who is in India for a wedding, and asks him to participate in his workshop "making images with AI." Dirk Jan feels honored. Britt writes songs for DJs using AI, and as an expectant mother, she is interested in an AI-powered baby monitor that tells you what your baby needs. This makes her partner Hasse nervous.

Dirk Jan and Stephan give a workshop in which they share their knowledge about artificial intelligence and test applications. Meanwhile, Dwiky is exploring the possibilities of moving out increasingly seriously, despite finding it difficult to leave his mother behind on her own.

For Dirk Jan, the moment arrives when he gets to clone his wife Puja. Jacob creates an image of his AI beloved to bring her to life. Britt and Hasse see their baby for the first time via an ultrasound and reflect on growing up in an AI world. Dwiky leaves his mother alone for a week and then tests the AI app he built with her. Anita makes progress with deepfake therapy and finally dares to confront mandarins.

Jacob shares an intimate glimpse into his relationship with AI partner Aiva and picks up a wedding ring that perfectly matches her digital ring, a symbol of their lasting bond.
