A series following Ann and David Darrell's ambitious plan to buy a chateau in Slovakia and turn it into a hotel. Having sold their house to finance the venture, they suddenly find the money raised has gone missing while the flight to their new home has been cancelled - and further difficulties await them when they finally leave the UK

Épisode 2 - Episode 2

Ann and David's dreams are dashed when the pink chateau Ann saw on the Internet reveals its true colours. They put in an offer for a property the size of a football stadium, but fail to take into account the huge amount of work involved in restoring the monster

Épisode 3 - Episode 3

Having failed to find a suitable property on their first attempt, Ann and David return to search for the perfect castle to house their hotel, and put in an offer on their latest find - which happens to be situated next to an agricultural college

Épisode 4 - Episode 4

Ann and David leave the UK for good and move into a hotel while awaiting the finalisation of the sale. The couple hold a meeting with their architects, but are disappointed by the Slovak style of business - lots of merriment and little work

Épisode 5 - Episode 5

The couple continue to wait for the purchase of their chateau to be finalised, and attend a salsa class to relieve their boredom - an event that proves to be rather amusing

Épisode 6 - Episode 6

The couple's dream of turning one of the country's beautiful chateaux into a boutique hotel ends up in tatters, forcing them to look elsewhere. Ann is less than impressed by David's idea of buying a ranch, and in a moment of madness they let their hair down and take to the slopes to cool off

Épisode 7 - Episode 7

Exhausted from their search for the perfect hotel property, Ann and David decide to take a break in the spa town of Piestany. A chance meeting with a builder in the swimming pool leads them to a new chateau - and possibly a new dream

Épisode 8 - Episode 8

Ann and David finally have their offer on a Slovakian chateau accepted, but the vendor has an unusual condition of sale - he wants to actually see the money himself

Épisode 9 - Episode 9

Ann and David visit their new chateau for the first time - but with a great deal of land and several outbuildings included in the deal, they aren't entirely clear on what they've bought or even where it all is. Fortunately, the mayor is on hand to answer their questions

Épisode 10 - Episode 10

Renovation work begins on David and Ann's chateau, but they soon get caught up in red tape. The listed building attracts the attentions of the Ministry of Culture, who look as if they are going to put a spanner in the works. As a result, the hotel's opening date suffers a setback, but the plucky duo use the opportunity to take a break in Morocco

Épisode 11 - Episode 11

The hoteliers take in a classic car rally also attended by the president of Slovakia in the hope of drumming up some guests. However, while Ann hopes to make an impression on the country's most successful businessmen, David thinks catering for hen parties would be more profitable

Épisode 12 - Episode 12

The roof comes off the chateau so six new rooms can be built in the attic - but despite the site's ruined appearance, the couple are convinced it will be ready for opening in four weeks' time. Meanwhile, Ann learns about the local cuisine from neighbour Eva

Épisode 13 - Episode 13

Ann travels to London to start a marketing campaign for the hotel, despite the fact that it doesn't yet have a roof. David, not wanting to miss out on all the fun, goes wine-tasting in Austria - and the vineyards give him an idea to solve their financial crisis

Ann and David try to appoint a hotel manager. They finally appointed Frenchman Thierry.

Épisode 3 - Welcoming Guests

The David and Ann receive a visit from a hotel inspector. David is forced to take the guests to a nearby winemaker and hide the staff as they do not have official approval to open the hotel.

Épisode 4 - Pork Night

As the chateau has so far had only a few guests, David decides to try and make money another way by holding a "Pork Night" for the locals. Thierry is not happy and tries to change the Pork Night menu, leading to a huge argument with David, after which Theirry walks out. Despite supporting her husband at first, after Pork Night Ann decides that Thierry was right and talks him into returning to the hotel.

Épisode 5 - Thierry's Friends

The chef is off sick and Thierry has to cook for the guests. Thierry has arranged for his friends, three gay couples, to stay at the chateau. Ann loves playing hostess, but David is less thrilled when he discovers that Ann has upgraded one couple to stay in David and Ann's own bedroom. Thierry is very upset that Ann has not helped in the kitchen and that he has not seen his friends, and he begins sulking. Ann puts Thierry in his place.

Épisode 6 - Muck Spreading

Things should have been looking up for the chateau when the couple hold their first business conference. However, Ann and David's problems continue when they discover that one of the staff has been taking alcohol and other items from the bedrooms. Further problems arise when some of their patio furniture is stolen. Ann threatens that they could all be fired. They also have problems with the local farmer who is using a road on Ann and David's land as a short cut while muck spreading. The most devastating news comes when Ann and David find out that both of their puppies have been killed.

Épisode 7 - The Investors

In the final episode Ann and David meet a wealthy Slovak couple with the aim of persuading them to invest in the chateau so that they could develop the vast land around it. However the couple surprise Ann and David by offering to buy the chateau instead. Much to the staff's relief the couple turn down the offer. At the end of the episode Ann and David renew their wedding vows at the chateau.
