Kang Minju (Lee Ki Woo) était plus qu'un grand-frère pour Bokgu (Bi). Ils proviennent d'une famille disloquée avec père gangster et une mère qui les a quittés. De même 10 ans plus tôt Kang Mingu est lui aussi parti. Kang Bogku (Bi) retrouve finalement son frère Kang Minju (Lee Ki Woo) 10 années plus tard. Mais la joie des retrouvailles est courte car Minju face à un panneaux d'information, saute du haut d'un immeuble après avoir vu l'annonce des fiançailles de Cha Eunseok (Shin Min Ah) avec un riche héritier. Il se retrouve alors à l'hôpital dans un état végétatif tandis que Kang Bogku, après avoir apprit que Cha Eunseok et son frère étaient amoureux l'un de l'autre avant qu'elle ne devienne une star de cinéma, réclame vengeance. Son désir est de faire endurer à la jeune femme la même souffrance que son grand-frère. Dans le but de se rapprocher d'elle Bogku change de travail pour devenir le garde du corps de la jeune femme et ainsi préparer sa vengeance. Il veut que la star tombe amoureuse de lui . Tandis que le temps passe, Bogku commence à aimer Eunseok et est alors tiraillé par son envie de vengeance et par l'amour.

Kang Bokgu is a good-looking but hot-tempered guy. He is a kick boxer, and always has bruises on his face. He lives with Han Dajung who has been a friend of Bokgu's since orphanage, and had burnt her face while trying to rescue Bokgu from fire. He feels responsible for her wounds. Cha Eunsuk is a famous actress who had been a girl friend of Minku, Bokgu's brother.

The events leading up to Kang Mingu's attempted suicide are explored in greater detail. Cha Eunsuk is irate that, without even consulting her or proposing, Kim Junsung announced to the press that they are engaged. Eunsuk is resolved to remain faithful to Mingu despite his disappearance, but her parents want her to forget Mingu and marry the wealthy Junsung. At the hospital, Bokgu finds out that his brother Mingu is in a vegetative state. When he goes back to Mingu's apartment, he discovers photos that reveal a romantic relationship between Mingu and Eunsuk. He believes that Eunsuk must have rejected his brother when a wealthier suitor came along. Bokgu is angry that his brother would throw his life away and abandon him for the sake of a fickle girl.

Dajung is swindled and loses all the money she has. Bokgu comes to Seoul to comfort her. But, she senses something different from him. Bokgu calls Eunsuk with Minku's cell phone, but she hangs up coldly. Junsung becomes jealous when Eunsuk calls Minku's name while she is drunk.

Eunsuk is stunned when she finds herself falling for Bokgu. Junsung visits Eunsuk's house, and gets close to her family. In order to pay the medical bill for Minku, Bokgu agrees on attacking gangsters with other gang. Eunsuk tries to stop him.

Holding injured Bokgu, Eunsuk weeps and kisses him. While staying at the hospital, Bokgu feels her love. However, he again vows revenge on her. Without knowing his intent, Eunsuk's love for him deepens. Realizing Eunsuk falling for Bokgu, Junsung hastily sets their engagement date.

Eunsuk is shocked when Bokgu reveals that he is Minku's brother. Bokgu thinks his revenge is finally completed, but he suffers more because he loves Eunsuk. Eunsuk faints with high fever while she nurses Minku.

Bokgu feels so guilty that he treats Eunsuk harshly. He moves Minku to another hospital to prevent Eunsuk from visiting Minku. Miraculously Minku wakes up from the vegetative state.

Eunsuk finds out that Minku is alive, and meets him. Minku holds her tight, and does not let her go. Eunsuk decides to devote her life nursing Minku, and moves to the countryside with him. She tells Bokgu not to come to see them. One day Minku suddenly acts violently to Eunsuk.

Eunsuk gets hurt from Minku's violent acts. Bokgu cries and yells at Eunsuk to leave from Minku and him. Although Dajung knows that Bokgu loves Eunsuk, she hopes Bokgu will return to her someday. Bokgu plans to spend a night with Dajung to put Eunsuk out of his mind.

Eunsuk becomes an anorexic after coming back to her family. Junsung thinks only Bokgu can cure her. He asks Bokgu to help Eunsuk but Bokgu refuses. However, Bokgu also suffers.
