Show by Rock!! est un anime basé sur un jeu de rythme pour téléphone créé en 2012 par Sanrio. Nous suivons la vie de plusieurs groupes musicaux : Les Plasmagica, les Shingan CrimsonZ, les Tsurezurenaru Ayatsuri Mugendan et les Trichronika. Récemment, un nouveau groupe a été dévoilé : les Criticrista. L'histoire se déroule à Midicity, la ville de la musique. Une lolita mi-humaine mi-chat nommée Cyan est repérée par une agence de musique et rejoint trois autres demoiselles, une lapine nommée Chuchu, Moa, mi humaine mi-mouton et Retoree, une geek aux oreilles de chiens, afin de se lancer dans la musique sous le nom de Plasmagica. Mais la vie d'Idol est semée d'embûches, en commençant par des groupes prêts à tout pour être premier sur le podium de la célébrité !
